Alfred Szklarski was born on January 21, 1912, in Chicago, USA. When he was a child, his family returned to Poland, where he grew up and studied. He became interested in literature and began writing books. During World War II, he lived in occupied Poland. After the war, he faced restrictions on publishing his works. Later, he became one of the most popular Polish adventure writers. He is best known for his series of novels about the young traveler Tomek Wilmowski. His books describe exciting adventures, different countries, and various cultures. His works have been translated into many languages and are loved by readers around the world. Alfred Szklarski died on April 9, 1992, in Katowice, Poland.
